A Letter From The President

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

The fall season is off to a great start. As we begin this, I reviewed our program registrations; we have a total of over 4,500 registrations this year! This is a record for us and the Board is pleased that we are fulfilling our mission for the member families.

Our 2nd Sports and Family Fun Barbeque held in the spring was a huge success. We had over 500 attendees and plan to have another one this spring. We held the event with the goal of breaking even and were successful at that. We intend to have a similar event next, if you would like to help, please contact the office.

Our membership continues to demonstrate financial generosity and we are most appreciative. During these times it is important that our organization remain on sturdy financial ground in order to continue to offer programs, provide scholarships for those in need and to prepare for challenges that will face our organization in the next few years, particularly the possibility that a new Eastern Greenwich Civic Center will be built. The generosity that our membership demonstrates in volunteer hours is also remarkable. As an example, we had more than 100 coach volunteers to help run our program. It not only affords members the opportunity to spend more time with the children, it also provides the children with great role models that they will certainly fondly look back upon when the time comes for them to volunteer as adults.

We will schedule another Can Food Drive to benefit Neighbor to Neighbor in October - more information on this initiative will be sent to the membership. Please be generous and bring along cans of food that will benefit other Greenwich residents that are in need.

See you on the fields!

Sincerely,
Kirk Schubert
President
